  1. Most of the country is rural. Mexico City occupies less than 2% of the entire country and contains 20% of the population. The country is probably over 80% rural. There's less than 1000 municipios that have a population of 100,000 or more just to give you an idea. The catch is that the few that do are heavily populated.
