  1. By law in UK all children who are mentally able to do so are educated at a secondary stage up to the age of sixteen, even the seriously disabled who receive special education. If for any reason they cannot go to a school or if they are in hospital for a long stretch, they are taught at home or by peripatetic teachers  .

    After sixteen some leave school and go to work. Others stay on in the sixth form to study at Advanced level or to follow a vocational course at a College.

  2. Secondary School (age 11-16) is compulsory so 100% legally have to attend scondary education.
