  1. obviously something albert sings. my friend auditioned for this part and sang put on a happy face...and guess what he got it! put on a hpapy face is defintely the song u should sing.

  2. Albert was played by d**k Van d**e in the original broadway cast and he did a fabulous job (of course, he's more well known for that atrocious accent in 'Mary Poppins', but that's beside the point). Albert's a baritone, so pick something that shows off your lower register. Some songs that would work selected from the repertoire of the guy that is set to play Albert in our production of Bye Bye Birdie:

This Nearly Was Mine- South Pacific

Marion the Librarian- The Music Man (this would be good, as it shows some uptempo and slow tempo ability, which is important for Albert)

    Try To Remember- The Fantasticks

If I Can't Love Her- Beauty and the Beast

Beautiful Girl- Singin' in the Rain

Many people auditioned with songs from the era, ie The Beatles (pick something that wasn't in 'Across the Universe') and 'American Bandstand' by Les Elgart. Break a leg!

  3. The beginning number from Mary Poppins, Chim Chim Cheree, is a great song for tenors. Also Jolly Holiday, or go fly a kite. go fly a kit is my favorite for tenors.

Good luck with you audition! and i hope i helped!

  4. Oh I love that show good luck!

Try a show that is contemporary with it, look at How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, all of Ponty's songs would work nicely.
