Are they called the "orthopaedist"? I know orthopaedists deal with stuff pertaining to the musculoskeletal system and may do surgery if nessary, but are they the same people who inspect you?

Whats more, what is the person who casts your leg and the person who takes the x-ray called?

Thanks in advanced.

  1. Orthopedic surgeon or a podiatrist.

The orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist or their assistant will cast your legs.

Radiology Techonlogist will be the one who does the x-rays.

  2. What do you mean by "inspect"? If you break a bone, you will be seen by an orthopedic surgeon. Or you might be seen by an osteopath. Either one will "inspect" your broken bone.

A radiologist takes the x-ray. Either an orthopedic surgeon or an osteopath will set your bones straight in the cast, with the help of a nurse.

  3. The person who evaluates your injury could be an orthopaedist or his or her physician's assistant. The person who takes the x-ray is a radiology technician. Usually it's not the radiologist (doctor of radiology). Radiologists read x-rays, CAT scans, etc.
