"The Walk To Paradise Garden" by W. Eugene Smith. It was chosen as the last photograph in the exhibition and book titled "The Family of Man" by Edward Steichen.

Smith was recuperating from serious wounds suffered during WWII and it was thought that he might never use a camera again.

Another famous photo essay by Smith was "Minamata", an expose of mercury poisoning in the Japanese village the essay was named for.
