  1. Singular of "you" informal is "tu" (your friends, small children, etc.)

Singular of "you" formal is "vous" (your teacher, your grandparents, someone you just met, etc.)

Plural of "you" formal AND informal is "vous"

  2. Vous is "You guys". It can be the plural form of tu to mean "All of you", or it can also be the polite way that you would speak to an adult or someone you respect. Tu is how you address friends and family, and it's considered disrespectful to use tu when talking to someone like your teacher.

  3. Vous is the plural and/or formal of "you" in French. Tu is singular and/or informal.
