Imagine brain transplants were possible. What would be the point of giving an individual a new brain? You'd be an entirely different person.

  1. A brain transplant should properly be called a body transplant, as the intention would be to move a functioning brain out of a defective body and into a healthier one. There would be no point in placing a fresh brain into an old body.

It can be assumed that because the brain, being smaller than the body, is the object that is physically removed and transferred, people have referred to the procedure as a "brain transplant" in error for the sake of simplicity.

  2. You're assuming you were to do a brain transplant to replace your brain and not your body. I would still not see too many instances where this would be done.

I guess it just sounds better than body transplant.

  3. Not only that but I wouldn't think the new brain would have any knowledge.  It'd be like a newborn's brain in a full grown body.  Strange.

  4. where will you get the fresh brain? and whose body do you want put that in..it's crazy men, i don't mind if you thumb me down a hundred times... it's still crazy!

  5. personally i think you have to much time on your hands

  6. The point is one for people to speculate on when they really should be doing something more productive. There will never be such a thing, so speculation is just a way to waste time.

  7. lol

i've been thinking about that too
