  1. It's not illegal to own a knife. as you say, I have a kitchen full of them. But if I were to shove one in my back pocket and go wandering the streets then I would be breaking the law and rightly so.

  2. Who is suggesting banning knives?

We already have laws about who can buy them and evidently it makes no difference.

Knives are carried used simply because they are easily accesible easily concealed weapons.

  3. It would be completely unrealistic to ban the sale of kitchen knives.  What is needed is for people who carry knives to be punished with imprisonment and those who kill be imprisoned for a minimum of 20 yrs.

I don't think people would take kindly to being punished for the criminal activities for a relatively small number of feral delinquents.

  4. Fair point GF

Even if we could get rid of knives from the streets, any sharp piece of metal is just as dangerous. A screwdriver for example

  5. Here's an answer....move across the pond! Heck, you can walk around with as much armament as you can carry here (with the proper licensure).  But please leave socialized medicine there!

Doesn't voting work any more in England?  Throw the bums out of office if they pass laws you can't agree with!

  6. There is no point, it's a band waggon which all the morons are jumping on, including that prat Gordon Brown, the government and the police have between them allowed discipline to be eroded by allowing stupidity to lead the way, only the other day a mother and carer of her child was told she could not travel in a taxi as carer of her child because she had not been police checked, we are told half truth and misled by these clowns and when we ask a direct question we are told sorry data protection, another chicken there ringing the neck of when it suites them, we are controlled by dishonesty, lead by stupidity and asked to be grateful for impunity.

  7. When i was 14 i went into a shop , and bought my mum a full set if kicthen knives . I didnt get asked for ID !

Banning knives , i think would be a step up . Even if people could get hold of domstic knifes , combat knifes in the commen sense of the word Combat , are far more deadly than your everyday kitchen knives .

  8. It is an unenforceable law for exactly the reason you have just given that's why it will never happen not much point.

  9. I agree with Your Point.

I need a waiters knife for My profession. I carry it

everywhere, so that I can open a bottle of wine, when needed.

Is this now classed as an offensive weapon, & what about a

    Corkscrew ?......Like Gordon Brown......?

  10. To ban knives is to ban people from carrying knives. So, for example, if you are stopped in the street and have a knife on you then you can be penalised. Or if you are found to be carrying a knife in your car or your bag.

It helps stop knife stabbings because most fights that result in a stabbng don't happen in the kitchen =)

  11. This is just polticians and their lacky police pals making pointless noises as usual.

There is no money to sling these yobs into prison so they come up with this kind of BS in order to quieten the people.

What should happen never will happen because the great british public are terrified of paying for it.  The fact is the Tories will be voted back in on the promise of low taxation and we will all get exactly what we deserve...**** all.

  12. exactly, i agree lol,, all this d**k heads with knifes...which the majorty seem to be black...i dont know why but its true u cant call me racist there are some white and asian guys with knifes too though...i say they all get shot to be honest...and there live they will only get young women pregnant and then cause the next generation of murderers because they have decided not to be a dad...i say its also the cities fault..you never really see people in the country side knifing people up lol    confined spaces are dangerous...but somehow we fell  more safe :S  im confused
