  2. People put head covers on their woods to keep them from getting dinged up or scratched because most of the big name drivers and fairway woods like Titleist or Callaway are pretty expensive.

  3. Its so the clubs your not using, can't see how bad your game is.

  6. The covers are to protect the clubs from getting damaged as you walk around the course. They ten to bang into each other and minor dents and scratches can effect the performance. Some covers extend down the shafts to protect them if they are made from Carbon. Irons also need the same treatment as odd scratches on the hitting face can effect the performance of them.

  10. To protect them, golf clubs are very expensive, its like asking why some people keep their tennis rackets in a case, to protect it from unwanted bashing, scuffs etc.
