  1. They are used for two reasons.

Firstly is to help with insulation and temperature as other answerers have mentioned.

The other reason is to do with safety. On a windy day a large building could potentially have a big air pressure variance with the outside world. In this case an ordinary door might slam violently and unexpectedly,

  2. the reason for having revolving doors is so more peaple can get in our out, rather then using reagular doors, best bet for using it and getting out is watting till no onme is in it..

  3. As with many things, there are two reasons--the ostensible reason and the real reason. The ostensible reason is that the revolving doors create an air trap. Since the interior of the building is never directly exposed to the outdoors, there's less chance of all that expensively heated or cooled air getting out and running up your utility bill. An alternative way of accomplishing the same thing is a vestibule, where you have to pass through two sets of doors to get inside. Another reason for revolving doors is to prevent wind from howling down (or up) the elevator shafts and stairwells and blasting out (or in) the doors due to indoor-outdoor pressure differentials.

So much for the rationalizations. The real reason you're told to use the revolving doors is so the real estate operators of the world can test your willingness to play ball.

Anyone with common since can use a revolving door. You wait your turn, stay at the pace of the door and go on threw. Maybe you shouldn't be working there. Try seeking employment with the handicapped. This way you can use the wheelchair ramp.

    PS...rate me best!!!

  4. So a person can get stuck!

  5. A lazy human invented it, they thought it was smart.

  6. wow, great answers they got up there.

imo, revolving doors are for the employees, it's like an incentive, if only they would realize it...

i think it's such a nice facility for playing "turning around" when you're bored and got no work (e.g., breaktime)

    lol

  7. Revolving doors help maintain inside temps.  Have you been skipping your morning coffee.   Get up earlier and have an extra cup.  To face such a daunting gauntlet unalert could indeed be troublesome.  To get off when the opening presents itself there facing the workplace could bring up so many fears and feelings of  "I don't want to go,  I don;t want to be here.....save me.  let me go around again and again and maybe dizziness will propel me back out intothe street where I really want to be ."  You sound like a defeated person working to insure federal contract compliance.  Shout , scream, be a whistle blower anything but don't be a proctologist.

  8. I love the revolving doors at our..oops I mean my job because they move by themselves and all of the sudden, they STOP and people walk their @sses right smack into them and it's hilarious and it never fails!

  9. Stay to the outside.  Get out as soon as you see it start to open.  There's only supposed to be one person in each section.

  10. revolving doors help with tall buildings that would otherwise act as chimneys creating a large suction that would pull open, or seal shut, any standard swing door

Moorish designs use this principle for air-conditioning by using a tower to pull air into the building across a cool coutyard with a fountain - no noisy & energy consuming a/c required.

  11. Most businesses that have them offer a four hour night class on how to use one. They start with pictures and hit the conceptual aspects of revolving doors. Then they go into the practical parts and their usage. At the end of the evening they give you a certificate and a small, handheld, plastic model of a revolving door to practice on. Good luck.

  12. moves more people

  13. They provide great insulation as there is never an open door way to the outdoors.  There is always a seal to outside.

It's not that the doors are difficult.......
