What is the point of looking at an accident on the other side of the freeway!!?

You would have thought the accident was on my side of the freeway. I moved about 4 miles in 55 minutes because people are nosey and it wasn't even a fatal accident. If you're a looky loo and you read this question p**s on you!!!

you are soooo right, i hear my fiancee talking about it when he gets home from work, and how it annoys him, he calls them rubber necks, they hold up the traffic so bad.  strange people out there wanting to see blood or something awful. lol x*x

i know, it's annoying when people stare instead of take a glance.  the freeway is supposed to be a faster way to get somewhere.

i work on a volunteer firedepartment and EVERY time we go to an accident we have "rubber neckers" and guess it's because they all want to see a fatality.... guess one motorcycle 10-50 with brain matter hanging out and eveyone saw it would make them drive a little faster eh?

I don't look, but I do slow down because you don't know if someone is going to accidentally step into moving traffic, like if they are walking backwards trying to move something.

Anyone who stops or severely slows down to look at an accident should be given a summons for impeding the flow of traffic.

The point of looking at a traffic accident that you are not involved in is cause to cause an accident of your own.  Hopefully, the individual that is gawking at the accident is texting too as well as smoking a cigarette.  I observed this behavior on the 405 in Los Angeles yesterday.

That is some really SCARY behavior, a cell phone in one hand and a cigarette in the other.  So, you're driving the car with the palm of your hand?  Hmm... A STROKE OF GENIUS!

I think the next time I drive up there I will do my laundry first.  Then, I can fold my clothes on the drive up there!  Sweet!

OMG I am so glad you said it. It pisses me off so FREAKIN bad when people do that and are all nosey.  I mean what the heck are you looking at, its not a show!! Keep moving! I mean C'mon do these nosey people like to see other people's tragedy or something. Does it somehow fulfill their day??  If you're not going to help don't hold back the traffic and people that would like to get home!

Now everytime I'm stuck in traffic I know whats coming. Its either someone has a flat tire, car broke or an accident! If I would I would have a horn screaming "Move people, quit being nosey, I would like to get home!"

ppl are so bored with their life that they have to nose into others but it good to take a glance cuz u may know who got into the accident.

I really don't see the point either. It's a huge waste of time for everyone. I personally never slow dawn to watch an accident. Besides I think maybe someone's hurt and an ambulance is  on the way to help the injured people so I try to move faster in order to make way for it.
