3/4 of those want a jury trial when offered a deal in a judge's chambers

and the rest are a waste of time.

And to contend with douchebags for defendant's attorneys.

  1. From a tactical perspective the point of showing up for jury duty is to avoid breaking the law.  To be sure, it may seem like a waste of your time, but you are free to think of a better system and then promote it to see if you can get it adopted.

  2. In our state, if you don't show, you get a bench warrant issued

on you and the next time it's you in front of the judge and he/she will not be real friendly either..you can bet on that!

A very good point to be there and on time!

  3. Because is the law

  4. Maybe so, but you still show up.  Locally,. a person just didn;t "show up" because she didn't believe  in showing up for jury duty.

She was arrested and jailed when she couldn;t make bail.

It took 10 days before she appeared before a judge.

Feel like spending 10 days in jail??? Now, who is the douchebag???

  5. It's your civic duty.  If you were go be accused of a trial, wouldn't you like to be tried in front of a jury of your peers instead of having your fate decided by a potentially biased judge.  Juries make trials fairer and it's in the Constitiution of the United States, in the Bill of Rights, I think.  Even if you don't care about it, other people want a fair trial!  Also, it is a crime to willfully ignore a jury summons!

  6. It's your civic duty as a citizen of the USA

  7. From a "tactical perspective" ?!  are you serious?  there's nothing tactical about jury duty at all

  8. Showing up for jury duty isn't about you and your needs, keeping you entertained or away from douchebad attorneys.  Jury duty is about doing what is necessary to keep the judicial system working the way it was intended.  Yes, it's boring, yes, it's a pain in the a**, but it is necessary.  Besides, who wants to pay a fine for not showing?

  9. Very simple, it is the law.
