  1. Leonid, you make me laugh :))  "russian peacekeepers"???? I understand    that you are russian and you try to excuse those athrocities made by RED ARMY in the INDEPENDENT STATE OF GEORGIA, but plaese be more correct, russians had not keep peace ever, thay oppres and distroy and try to control countries near them for 200 years, belive me I'm from Romania and I know how RED ARMY is. Thay were here too and my parents and grandparents told me how they was in comparition with even germans in the second world war, russians were act barbarian anywhere thay pased and declared that thay "elibearate and keep peace" Give me a brake!

  2. ok i'll tell uwhats the point  georgia is a tiny tinyyy little country russia is a hugeee humanges country for those people who say georgians were the onse who srated the war WRONG! country little as georgia would NOT want to start a war with country BIG  as russia common sence people russia is trying to STEAL all of georgia Sochi <-- the place where they are gona have olimpics was georgia and russia stole it from us, Apkhazia is georgia south ossetia is georgia u should check the map and see those citys are INSIDE georgia and fuked up putin and his toy medvedev are trying to take georgian land and saakashvili is the best president that georgia had i know many georgians and they all love him!!!! RUSSIANS GET UR ******* FACTS SRRAIGHT!

  3. For the last 17 years South Ossetia and Abhazia were independent........

and now Georgia decided that they like to have that land for themselves.

    Well actually :

The $4 billion Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, named for the capitals of Azerbaijan and Georgia and a Turkish province, passes within 100 miles of the South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali.

Carrying a million barrels a day, the BTC pipeline is separated from the Russian-backed region (which Monday is said to be totally under Russian control) by over 10,000 Georgian soldiers. It has also been buried underground for most of that stretch to prevent attacks by saboteurs.

It's all about oil & natural gas supply to Europe.......from Caspian sea and now Georgia need this land.

That land DO NOT BELONG TO Georgia.

President of Aphasia, Sergey Bagapsh, and Ossetia's Edward Kokoyte would like their country to be independent from Georgia, and Georgia denied that request.

THAT LAND NEVER BELONG TO GEORGIA.

Stalin(Georgian himself started the genocide) and now Georgian military have been killing abhazians and osetians for years.

So they ask for help from Russia. Russian Federation has taken the autonomous Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia under its wing.

MONEY AND OIL IS AT THE ROOT OF THIS CONFLICT.

WHO IS GOING TO CONTROL IT........

    Saakashvili or Putin.......

  4. There is no war. Georgian army have atacked Osetia. Most of the osetians are citizens of Russian Federation. Also, georgian army have killed several russian peacekeeping soldiers.

In answer to this, Russia have sent reinforcment to its peacekeeping group. Then, georgian army was made to retreat. As the peace was reestablished russian army returned to Osetia to keep fulfilling its peacekeeping mission

  5. holy.. feckin.. sht.. now tht was a lot of letters :|

  6. On top of the whole terrority and resource thing.

the russians hate the fact that georgia are trying to become apart of nato, because they  have been trying to acheive that for years. and georgia is trying  to become a modern western country in the east which russia hate.

and the georgian president was american educated, and are allies of the U.s and we all know the hatred between russia and america for obvoius reasons.

its to send a message to america that they cant turn there small bordering naibours into an american based country.  and that they can do what they like and nobody can do a thing, because no one wants a war with russia. russia have always hated georgia and even called there president scum on tv the other day.

but how can america say or do anything about it?????

america attacked iraq 8 years ago, why?  because saddam had killed his own people, they were no immidate threat to the u.s. and america did not get a go-ahead from the UN.

thats exactly what russia are doing now. attacking a country that has slaughterd its own people.

because bush got away with doing that to iraq, for smileling and watching isrial and watching happly at the situation in pakistan. other big countrys will follow suit, knowing that they can get away with it because america did

bush has created the world we live in nowdays.. and in a way helped cause this war

PUTIN WANTS TOO SHOW THE WORLD THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN AMERICA....watch out because WW3 is near

this could be the likly hood:

    U.S~UK~GEORGIA~FRANCE  VS RUSSIA,CHINA,INDIA,IRAN

other small countrys will proberbly back up the western world....but also other countrys will back up the far east

there will be no real winners, but the winning sides will surly be the far east..

yes uk and us have better equipment and better trained

but the sheer numbers of the far east and there attitude to winning will be our downfall

  7. To protect Ossetian people who were genocided!!!!!

  8. Why not ask them?

What map were they using in time?

Is it made in Great Britain or made in China?

Why were they throwing pots and pans at one another?

In bashing up among their own kind?

With faulty education and communication system.

    And self lack of knowledge.

    Being expose in time.

    Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

    What do you think?

  9. Control of territory and resources. This is the point of most wars. The second largest cause is religion, but that does not apply in this situation. The Georgians are trying to maintain control over two regions which are contrary to some claims legally recognized as part of their country. The Russians on the otherhand appear to be bent on regaining control of all of Georgia.

Anarchist: I do not dispute your position regarding the underlying cause of the conflict. However your assertion that South Ossentia is independent has never been recognized by the international community. The South Ossentians declared independence, but independence must either be won from or granted by the host country. This has never occurred. This territory technically belongs to the Georgians, but I will accept that it has been in long term dispute.

  10. Russia is sending a message to all westent countrys

exspecaly the US that they are back as one of the worlds super powers and are h**l bent on takeing back there power and status of the former USSR

  11. Leonid, and Anarchist; between the two of you, we almost have an answer. Yes, Georgia attacked Ossetia, and Russia has come to defend in response, because the Georgians killed a number of Russian Soldiers.

The most interesting thing to note is the hardware Georgia is using, much of it being supplied by US and other Western corporations, and the fact that the US Military, including, from what I have read 1600+ Special Forces and Marines are training the Georgians. In effect, it appears the Military Industrial Complex is provoking conflict in this region, to what ends, who can say, but my personal view on this is that Russia and the USA are in collusion to cause this conflict possibly to bring Georgia back into the Russian state by force, or any number of psychotic New World Order/Bilderberg agendas....honestly, the motivation eludes me utterly, but nothing of this scale happens by accident!

The US media, of course, God bless our lost souls in this country, have decided to report this as an act of Russian aggression, but it most certainly was begun by aggression from Georgia upon Ossetia.

    What a mess.

In researching a bit for the answer, I actually believe that this may be a NATO plot to start a war with Russia,

Nobel laureate and former Soviet dissident Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in a newspaper interview accused the United States and NATO of seeking to encircle Russia, and praised President Vladimir Putin for working to restore a strong state.

In a rare interview, the reclusive 87-year-old author, who rose to prominence for his accounts of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin’s repression and labor camps, told the liberal weekly Moscow News that NATO’s ultimate aim was the loss of Russia’s sovereignty, according to a full text of the interview posted on its Web site edition Thursday.

“Though it is clear that present-day Russia poses no threat to it, NATO is methodically and persistently building up its military machine into the east of Europe and surrounding Russia from the south,” Solzhenitsyn was quoted as saying.

“This involves open material and ideological support for ‘color revolutions’ and the paraxodical forcing of North Atlantic interests on Central Asia,” he reportedly said, adding that there was “little substantial difference” between the actions of the U.S. and NATO.

“All this leaves no doubt that they are preparing to completely encircle Russia and deprive it of its sovereignty,” Solzhenitsyn was quoted as saying.

Did you know that n**i General Richard Gehlen's private intelligence network, after working with the CIA, via Allen Dulles, became the original NATO intelligence service? Thought provoking, as the man remained unrepentantly sympathetic to the aims of National Socialism, until at least 1971. This has always made me suspicious of NATO. Don't forget, our president's Grandfather was a convicted n**i sympathizer! Please read between the lines, that's where the answers are, not on TV.

  12. Somebody from Romania tell about barbarian!

What Romanian troops done near Stalingrad at 1942-1943? What they brought to Russia - only death. So, Romania got rather little punishment, not more. You have to be grateful that Russians is not so barbarian as you told here.
