Its just an exercise mat. Its useful when doing activities such as the jackknife and other things which require you to lay down.

However, I advise against the Wii Fit mat. It is very overpriced. You can get a exercise mat much cheaper at Walmart or Sears or anywhere else that sells exercise equipment.

I highly encourage you to get a exercise mat if you're going to be using Wii Fit regularly, but don't get Nintendos. Its just a waste of money.
