  1. To know what soda is in the cup.

  2. There supposed to tell you what flavor of pop or what kind of drink is in the cup.  They usually say "Coke", "Diet", or "Other" depending where you are at.  I have rarely seen them actually used, but it is a good idea, especially if the place is very busy.

  3. Usually those lids are used in Fast Food restaurants, so therefore they use the lids for all their drinks, if you look closely they will have a letter or letters by each bump which represents a different flavor of pop. (ie: rootbeer and cola are the same color so by pushing one of the bumps down it tells them which drink it is).

  4. the buttons are used for letting you know what drink you are getting expecially if you order multiple drinks.

  5. when you order for a party or alot of people.  you push down the button that is whats in the cup

    cp

  6. If you look at the buttons you will see that there are words or letters next to them.  If you order several types of cola drinks, then the person pouring the drinks can press down the proper button to indicate which type of cola you have.

ie...diet, RB for root beer, etc.
