What is the point to the yahoo points?

bragging rights.

nothing really.

you get no gift or anything for reaching levels.

you feel a sense of satisfaction when you reach a level.

also when your reach higher levels you get less restriction.

Probably motivation for people to help others. It's sad if people need that kind of motivation just to help others. (Not saying that they all do)
