  1. Just a little correction:

    we are 63 million...

...that much? Yes, more than 60 millions

  2. we are 63 billion in France!

  3. 64,102,000 inhabitants with the Overseas territories (Guadeloupe, Tahiti, Réunion, etc...)  and 61, 538, 000  in the mainland.

  4. According to the United Nations, France has 60.723 million inhabitants in 2006 (estimated). Therefore, France is the 20th most populated country in the world. See:

As you are a guy, you may be interested in the fact that there are 31,145.2 thousands women and just 29,577.6 thousand men in France.

  5. Sorry to answer a different question here...  You asked elsewhere (now closed to new answers) about what to know when doing business in France.  There are two excellent books named "French or Foe?" and "Savoir Flair" by Polly Platt.  She is an American who has lived in Paris for many years.  She teaches North American business people about the differences in the way businesses operate and in the cultures.  I read them before vacationing  in France and learned a lot -- by reading her books I was aware of things from the neutral French facial expression (i.e. don't smile for no reason!) to keeping my hands ON the table during a meal.
