  1. Actually Costa Rica while it does have a population of about Four million people, there are only about 2 and a half million "Costa Ricans" living there with the rest being made up mainly of American Citizens who have opted for the "Better life with prices there being about one third less than in the States" - and Nicaraguans who are looking for a better life and work!

  2. Last official census is of 2000.  At that time population was as follows:

children (under 18 yrs of age) : 1,536,428

    adult males :                               1,157,909

    adult females:                            1,193,854

total   population (as of 2000)   3,888,191

Official projection for 2007 is 4,476,614 total population. Mix (children, men, women) should remain similar to 2000 percentages.

  3. very very high for such a little country

  4. 20,87,267 males

    20,46,617 females

    Total: 4,133,884
