  1. We export a variety of foods. Coffee and seafood is the main export for the majority of Latin American countries. Without Latin America many things would not be possible. The total population is over 561,211,057, Brazil having the largest population (190 million). Latin America posses the largest rainforest in the world, Latin America, which, with only 16 percent of the world’s landmass, possesses the richest bird fauna on earth also.

    As for its importance to the U.S., cheap labor i would guess. But, that is not the only significance. Mexico constitutes 12.9% of the U.S.'s exports and 10.4% of its imports. Also, Venezuela provides a significant amount of cheap oil to the U.S. so without Latin America the U.S's oil prices would be higher than they already are.
