  1. If your using your laptop and the lightning surges into it while its plugged you'll feel it. It's unlikely but it can still happen. Getting hit by lightning outside is unlikely but it happens. Just the other day a girl was stuck by lightning looking through a window in her house, the weather moves in mysterious ways.

  2. about 10,000,000 to 1

  3. I don't think you'll find statistic on that one but - as a reference - here is what I know. If you are alone on the sea on a sailboat with a metallic mast pointing up you would think you're in a dangerous situation, right? Here is what will happen:

If your mast is not grounded, i.e. not in electrical contact with the sea water, if the lightning is to fall within a radius equal to the height of the mast, it will hit the mast.

If the mast is grounded, it will hit it if it falls in a radius equal to one and half time the height of the mast.

Now, if you ever see the sea from e.g. an airliner, you'll notice how wide it is and how little that circle will be. You don't risk very much. I am 60 and I have sailed since I was 6 and during my life, my mast was hit by lightning only once. I was while I was in a harbour and the only harm my boat got was a grilled VHF antenna.

... now, for a laptop ... most unlikely.
