Not likely, not as a direct hit anyway.

yeah your school will be canceled for this hurricane. it may or may not hit brownsville, but it certainly is on the right path thus far. My dad lives in Fort Worth- He called tonight to tell me that he was leavin there just in case, before it becomes impossible.

Highly unlikely.  The weakness in an upper level high pressure will cause the hurricane to move on a general northwesterly course through landfall.  For Brownsville to be affected the upper ridge would have to strengthen and build westward, which there is no evidence of it doing so.
