Kurta pyjama for men and Saree for women

Mumbai people are cool and on the roads you see every type of dress.

You can merge in with Western dresses too.

jeans is common all over India now for both men and women.

But in traditional families the married wear Indian dresses. Women everywhere wear salwar kameez these days.

Men,, pant and shirt..

During Pujas and such, Saris for ladies and pj - kurta for men.

In urban areas ( cities and towns ) men dress in trousers and shirts, women dress in saris, salwar kamiz, and few women ( particularly college going girls ) make do with occasional jeans and shirts/ tee shirts. In cities like Mumbai and Pune more modern attire is found ( short dresses like miniskirts etc)

In rural areas men ( younger ones ) trousers and shirts, ( older generation ) Dhotis and kurtas or lehenga and kurtas or shirts. Women mostly make do with saris, girls prefer salwar-kamiz, skirts and tops, frocks etc.
