Colorado. I have been in a lot of states, but this is the most beautiful to me! The mountains are beautiful. Very easy to photograph. There are no humidity, the air is crispy clean. Sky is beautiful blue (unless it's raining), the aspen and the evergreen are amazing. And you can see some snowy spots all summer, it really makes nice pictures. Strong colors, green, blue, white - clean air... Oh, and now there are plenty of wildlowers too..I just went last week and shoot in RAW so I have to convert all the pictures so it will take time. This was my 3rd time here... Famous places:

Maroon bells (mountain)

Alpine loop (area with high mountains, trees)

Pikes Peak - goes above 14.000 ft...

Rocky Mountain National Park - get there from Estes Park, the Elks and Moose just walking between people..

There are some waterfalls too..

And way more..

Books to recommend: Photographing the Southwest - Colorado, New Mexico, get it from Amazon.com, (read ratings too) I could not find in the bookstores, only online.. Very inspirational..
