What is the price difference between regular and plus size in bridal wear?

It really depends on which designer you are looking at. My maid of honor was plus-sized. When we went to look at bridesmaid dresses we found that some designers charged up to $80.00 more for the plus size bridesmaid dress. I thought it was silly because they aren't adding that much extra material - but, unfortunately they will hike up the prices because it has to do with a "wedding."

Usually they can charge anywhere from $100-$200 more.

If you look at David's Bridal it might give you some idea of what they charge. For example, this gown is $799.00 for size 0 to 16; 14W to 26W is $849.00

I've seen about $100-200 difference at some places (to cover the extra fabric?)  BUT most places I've looked haven't had any difference in prices for plus size bridal wear.  It's usually inexpensive places (like discount bridal places and David's Bridal) that do charge more for plus sizes.

In theory, it's supposed to be that the plus sizes are larger and, therefore, require more material to make.  They tend to do the same between the "average" and "tall" sizes as well saying more material is added to the length.

The amount charged depends on the manufacturer and the bridal shop.

For some, I have seen a $20-50 additional charge, but not all places do this.

You can get plus size gowns in the same price ranges as smaller sizes.

It depends on the manufacturer... some might charge $50 difference or $100 or probably more depending on how intricate your dress is. OR some might just charge an extra flat fee to submit your own measurements rather than just ordering a size and then having to have it altered, so that it's a custom-made dress.

Ask at a bridal shop, they can tell you what would be easier depending on the gown you're interested in.

I am a plus size bride and I have noticed differences of $25-$150. Each company is different. There are some that only chagre extra for sizes above 22. There are a few companies that have no extra charge. Forever Yours is one them that have no extra charge and a rush fee of only $10. I am ordering my dress from Mary's Bridal and it is $25 for sizes above 22.
