  1. As a general rule, Bahama and Caribbean cruises are the cheapest because of the number of ships sailing (more cabins available so more choice so cruise lines put best prices on cabins to get your business).

Hawaii cruises are great honeymoon cruises, however, the prices aren't that competitive and so more expensive and you also have to take into consideration the cost of flying there to get on the cruise.

Alaska cruises are considered good honeymoon cruises also. But again, less competition along with them being very popular (and seasonable) makes them on the high side of cruise prices.

If you've never been on a cruise, a Western Caribbean is a good choice for a great cruise at some great prices. There are numerous options as far as cruise lines and ports visited along with the length of the cruises (4-7 day cruises).

Personally I love cruises and have taken many and will take many more. However, in saying that, you might take into consideration that cruises might not be your thing and a vacation to a single spot for 5-7 days might be what you like better. So with that in mind, you might consider taking a shorter cruise to introduce yourself to cruises before laying out a lot of money for a longer, more expensive cruise. With that in mind, a cruise to the Bahamas or Western Caribbean might be the way to look. Both are great places with beautiful waters, great beaches and lots of fun activities to do while at the ports for a good price. (Eastern Caribbean cruises are great with nicer waters and beaches, but are longer cruises or you have to fly to southern caribbean to get on some that are cheaper, but the flight makes them more expensive as a whole)

  2. I'm an RTA, book it here: http://www.laurajamestravel.com and compare it to other rates and you will see this has the absolute rock bottom pricing.

  3. If you are looking to save money try a cruise close to home.

If you are in FL there are plenty of ports. You can slash the cost of your vacation by not flying.

  4. try www.vacationoutlet.com to get an idea of what you would like. or yo can call 1-800-takeoff (1-800-825-3633) someone from vacation outlet  can really help you out and give you an idea of a price. i booked my cruise with them and it was cheap it was about 2,500 for two with port fees and taxes included.

  5. Try looking into sites like expedia or carnival.com! These sites will give you excellent prices and will explain everything you need to know!

You can find some great deals by shopping around on the internet.

  6. Here's some thoughts to consider:

My suggestion for a cruise would be to take one leaving San Juan since there aren't as many days at sea and you go to better islands.  You can get plenty of time on board the ship at night.

Buy your own snorkel gear here so you won't have to spend about $30 for a ship excursion once you get to an island.  Just get off the ship, head to a taxi and ask him where is the best place to snorkel, or a beach that has a bar, or ... whatever your interests happen to be and he'll know the best spot.  He'll pick you up when you ask too, just bring a few extra bucks for a tip.

Depending upon your age, Carnival is great for twenty somethings and 30s too, or any age actually, although most cruise lines are about the same.  You hear raves about RC being great, but my friend just came back and she said she stayed awake one night listening to her husband snore on one side of her and his friend, in the next room, snoring on the other side of her.  So...bring some ear plugs?  LOL  I dunno, I never had that problem with any cabin I've had, from the bottom of the ship to the top w/a balcony.

If you've got days at sea...and you've got the money, then a balcony is well worth the price since you'll feel that you "own" the ship with so much privacy.  It's wonderful to say the least, otherwise, book a cabin with a window.  (I had a hard time in a windowless cabin, but that's me.).

Two weeks before you set sail, call the cruise line directly and see if there are any free upgrades.  Sometimes this might work, depending upon how filled it is.

I usually find a good deal by comparing prices for cruises here:  iBtraveling.com  This way you won't have to pay a travel agent's fee.  If you can type...why not compare yourself for the deal you want best and type the info yourself?  I've never had a problem, although I've read and learned that once you put your order in online for "anything" and you've used your credit card....That you should shut down your computer completely and restart it and start surfing again.  Just to be safe.

Well, those are my thoughts.  Hope they help.  Happy Honeymoon!  :)
