  1. Along with weight, shaft length and shaft flex the thickness of the grip is very different. A woman's hands are generally smaller then a Man's so the grips are thinner.

The differences make a Woman's club easier to play for a woman or even a boy (10-12yrs old).

  2. The swing weights, shaft lengths and flexes of the women's clubs differ greatly from those of the men. Since the majority of women have slower, less powerful swings the characteristics of womens clubs compensate for that difference. The men's clubs are usually longer, have stiffer shafts, and are heavier. There are women who use men's clubs with great success, both amateur and professional.

  3. Weight and length of shaft. Mens clubs can be used by women but they require more strength than the average woman might have. If you have mens clubs and are a female I suggest you simply have the shaft cut down to fit you height. All that is required is a saw and new grips. Should cost about $5.00 per club.

  5. shaft flex and weight.   Average women golfers have slower swing speeds than men and therefore need the lighter clubs in order to help compensate.  The flex in the shaft helps to get the ball in the air.

  6. its mostly the shaft length and the weight ratio of the club to shaft.   Also, the shafts are made for different torgue
