I read this book for summer reading, and now i have to answer 4 questions about the book:

The ones i'm a little confused about are 1) what is the problem being addressed? you may want to consider aspects if it is local or global, environmental or social, long standing, or realatively new. 2) What is your personal responsibility regarding this problem?

please help me!

  1. It's hard to help you with this because it's an opinion question.  Your teacher is asking you to figure out what Krakauer was getting at when he wrote the book, using the experiences of that kid (whatshisname) and his own mountaineering experiences.  So you need to think about that one.

It sounds, however, like your teacher is pushing people towards an environmentalist perspective because of his/her question about "your personal responsibility."
