that is an internal temperature problem which will soon be fixed in the new 360s coming out.

to prevent this you need to keep your 360 well ventilated, keep your fans in the back unblocked and get a cooling fan. I recommend Nyko ex

To get this fixed you'll need to call 1800-4myxbox

unless you wanna try a quick fix (not recommended unless your warranty is expired)  you wrap your 360 in towels (about 3) then leave it on for about 20-30 minutes (take off your hard drive and av cables before you start) then let it cool for about 15 minutes and you should be good to go

i fixed it myself manually and didn't mail it back to microsoft

its easy and you can do it yourself look at that website ( step by step repair guide that solves the most xbox 360 common problems permanently)
