What is the problem?

I just recieved my Dell XPS 1530 Laptop in the mail yesterday. So far I've had to reset it to factory image twice because it stops recognizing my network card.

The oh so helpful tech support said it was a software problem. I've only installed 3 things on it so far both times. Aol Instant Messenger, Photoshop, and Firefox.

Which one of these could be making this happen, and has this happened to anyone else?

  1. I vote its shutting it off to save power.  Go into the properties of the network card in device manager and uncheck "allow windows to turn off this device to save power"

  2. I suspect Firefox.  Try connecting w/o FF.

  3. If those are the only choices, Restore it back to factory again and install the programs one at a time and test in between each install. You are not giving a lot of information here to go on.
