My car starts shaking when idling, such as stopping at a red light, feels like it will stall (this hasn't happened), shakes less if I go into neutral. What's the problem?

  1. yep check spark plugs and wires and distribution cap, also your oil level,,,

  2. Scary huh, had a 940 did the same thing. Tune up worked. Spark plugs, plug wires, etc. Also, if you did not know this Volvo s have a very little tolerance for change. So , stay with the same fuel type, same oil , I know boring. But every once in a while I put the STP in the fuel to give it an extra boost. That should help you.

  3. sounds like you have a misfire/multiple misfire problem. If it has higher mileage on it, check the spark blugs and replace if the electrodes look worn out, get a new set, gap them, and see if that fixes her up, if not you may need something like an injector, or coil, depending upon the diagnosis
