Edit: afcadets, I thought you would have a little more common sense than to spew out possible national security concerns. Thanks, this may have put some our people in harms way.

Edit: jefferyb, if you were military or xmilitary you would understand why some of us are "flipping out". you never   know who's on the other end or what their intentions are.

I know there are steps for calling Close Air Support (I'm going from memory) sorta like a nine line Medivac. It involves giving the grid, best azimuth for the aircraft to attack from, any known anti-air threats in the area, and best direction for the aircraft to exit from, also the time on target.

I don't know why people are flipping out about this question. You can just buy the army's ranger handbook and it written right there. Also, you couldn't call one in if you didn't have the right radio frequencies/crypto/callsigns/had aircraft attached for the mission.

AFCadet, you need to edit, no? Even thought it is hardly complete.

EDIT: FYI, yes, this info can be found, but, that doesn't mean it isn't secure... if the guy, who has questions/answers as private, low points, and asks questions about tactics all the time, had access to the Ranger Guide, he wouldn't have to ask here on Y/A... too many of us assume that because WE know something, it is common knowledge... it isn't, nor should it be... Y/A is open to EVERYBODY, including our enemies, so why make it easier on them?

Totally depends where you are and what's going on with/around the target.  Give an example if you want to know, otherwise you have no need.  

PS you won't get exact answers for obivious reason but a general idea.
