What is the procedure for when they pump your stomach?

A flexible tube is threaded up through your nose and goes down into your stomach. The flexible tube is then hooked up to a suction device. The suction device is then programmed to "suck" out the contents of your stomach into a cannister. It is NOT a pleasant procedure.

They stick a tube down your  throat, into your stomach, then wash your stomach through with a saline solution.  It makes you very sick, and up comes whatever's in there.  Strictly speaking it should be called a stomach wash.  Apparently it's very unpleasant, though I wouldn't know from personal experience.  However I was in A&E when a young girl was having it done in the next cubicle, and it didn't sound very entertaining.
