  1. you'll need a license with the City and with the County. It would also be a good idea to incorporate. I have an S corp. You can do that with the County. Look up government websites for your local area. It's different city to city.


  2. Dear Mr. Shankar,

    Following documents are required to open a new shop:-

    1. No objection letter from the owner.

    2. Certificate from the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, to run the shop.

    3. Registration Certificate from VAT Office, to run your Business smoothly. ( only if the sales is above Rs. 2 lakh in a year ).

    4. Income Tax PAN number.

    5. A Current Account in the name of the shop, in a Bank.

    If there is no objection from the property owner, you can open your Shop at once. Other formalities can be taken care later.
