Question:

What is the process I have to go through to get a new set of car keys? (My car has an alarm installed as well)

My 2 year old lost them somewhere in the house. We have searched EVERYWHERE for them. Im wondering if he flushed them down the toilet. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

  1. SIMPLE, 2 ways to do it, one is simply contact the car dealership which is the same brand as your car, ask for the service dept, and they will get you going really easy.  For the alarm, if it was dealer installed they can also get you another remote, if was done somewhere else, usually they can get you another remote for like $30 and reprogram it for you.  Second option, call a locksmith, he will come out and make the keys for you, he will call the dealer and get the info to make the key or your car.  Hope this helps, sorry about the toilet, will be funny story later though. :P


  2. Go to a dealership of the make of the car. Take your ownership & plenty of ID & they should be able to get you a new set from the manufactor. This will not be all that cheap. ($75 - $250 depending on the car)

  3. You have to go back to the car dealer and they charge a lot of money
