  1. The most important thing that US embassy care about is your proof of getting back to the Philippines. Next is your financial capacity to survive during your "visit". The rest is just formality. Documents must be authentic. Doesn't matter how you get them. it must be the real thing.

Once you called them for application. they'll do background check on you, based on the information you given to them over the phone during your waiting period (about a month, Someone may drop-by/call you around your house, acting as a sales agent asking neighbors questions) until your appointment day arrives they already have an idea if they will allow you to be given a visa

i stood few hours in the US embassy, seeking techniques/stories, their attire, looking at people around who are doing business with the applicants.

    Success is work + luck.

  2. Visitor Visas for Business/Tourism (B-1/B-2)

The vast majority of nonimmigrant visa applications received at the U.S. Embassy in Manila are for tourism or business travel.

B-1 visas are for business, including such things as a need to consult with business associates, negotiate a contract, buy goods or materials, settle an estate, appear in a court trial, and participate in business or professional conventions or conferences; or, where an applicant will be traveling to the United States on behalf of a foreign employer for training or meetings. The individual may not receive payment (except for incidental expenses) from a United States source while on a B-1 visa.

B-2 visas are issued for general pleasure/tourist travel, such as touring, visits to friends and relatives, visits for rest or medical treatment, social or fraternal conventions and conferences, and amateur/unpaid participants in cultural or sports events.

In most instances, consuls will issue a combined B-1/B-2 visa, recognizing that most business travel will also include tourist activities.

  3. Unless your are a rich Filipina, you will not be able to get a tourist visa to the US.   The basic requirement is that your life would be better if you stayed in the Philippines.   If you would make more money in America than in the Philippines you will not get a tourist visa.   My wife's sister tried to get a tourist visa.   We put $ 6000.00 in her bank account, bought her a house, and she managed a rice farm for us.   She still could not get a tourist visa.

I have a friend who married a Filipina.   Her family comes here often.   However, her family is rich.   They had sent her to America to go to college.   College is expensive for an American, how much more for a Filipina.   Her father is a lawyer and he also had a large farm to raise chickens.

So if you or your family is not rich, do not waste your time on a tourist visa.

For the requirements you can check the American Embassy in Manila Web Site.
