What is the process in making Blue Cheese salad dressing? I have heard that it is actual molded cheese. Is this true? Would'nt that make you sick?

  1. Yes the blue in the blue cheese is mold and no it isn't to good for you but that kind of mold won't make you sick. Penicillin is made from mold. And that makes you well not sick.


  2. THE BLUE IS ACTUALY MOLD  CUZ IT BEEN AGING FOR A LONG TIME   SOME PEOPLE JUST CUT IT OFF

  3. The mold in blue cheese is put there buy adding "Pennicillum Roquforti" to the milk and rennet mix.

    Then, after the cheese is formed they push thin spikes through the center to allow air into the cheese so the mold can form.

    So it's not a cheese that went moldy by nature, but a cheese made to mold.

    It's safe as safe can be and blues are the fasted growing segment of the cheese industry.

    A good blue cheese dressing is fabulous.

    Melted blue IE Stilton or Roquefort on a steak or hamburger is delicious.

    Try some on a salad( crumbled).

    You'll quickly aquire a taste for them.
