What is the process of getting a Legal Hier Certificate in Pondicherry, India?

My father died in 2000 and the lawyer was not able to get us the Legal Hier Certificate hence all my dad's bank account is frozen since he did not have a nomination.

Any help in expediting the process?

Dear Mr. Guggu,

Very sorry. Your lawyer should have arranged you the certificate  once you submit the death certificate received by the Corporation authorities. I do not understand the reasons behind it. There may be some objections from other parties who might have claimed for the same.

Please discuss with other lawyer in detail, provide all documents and ask him to get " Succession Certificate " which have to be applied in form IV or V ( under rule 3 ).

Meanwhile, you can discuss the matter with the Bank Manager. He may able to give you some tips.

There is no other option. You have to move your application, through a lawyer only, as the law is different for Hindus, Muslims and Christians.
