  2. Wind blows across a turbine, causing it to turn.  The turbine (which looks like a huge propeller) is connected to a generator, which uses the rotary motion to produce an electric current.  This current is transferred to the power grid, or can be stored in batteries.

  3. Wind blows across a field of wind generators (these look something like windmills).  This turns the turbine to generate electricity.

  4. solar energy heats the air near the earth.the hot air becomes lighter and this rises up. this results in a low pressure area. cooler air flows into this region giving rise to wind. Wind energy is harnessed for many useful purposes such as production of electricity,sailing of boats etc.
