  1. Although each state issues their own drivers licences, the arrangements to recognise overseas licences are established by international treaty. I believe that Saudi licences are NOT  recognised by any Australian state.

    See for example:

    http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/yourl...

This means that you will have to apply for a local licence within 3 months of establishing permanent residence in Australia. International drivers permits only apply to tourists.

  2. above me is correct get onto the rta website, thats road and traffic authority.

  3. you may need to change your licence at the RTA but your International licence should be valid for at least 1yr. We drive on the left-hand side of the road and sit on the right-hand side of the car.

  4. It depends on which state you intend to move to as they each have their own laws and issue their Licenses. In NSW, it'll be the RTA (Roads and Traffic Authority) you will need to contact. It is possible you will need to retest as the requirements in what is considered a pass may vary in each country.

  5. It varies from state to state. In NSW you should see the RTA http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au

  6. depends on which state your going to.
