What is the process to make pass port in Boston?

My baby borned here in boston six months ago.I want to send him back to Nepal with his grand ma.Since he is borned here ,he becomes a us citizen I guess.What is the procedure to make US pass Port and send him to Nepal.I greatly appreciate your advice.Thank you.

You must apply for a US passport.

You must provide his US birth certificate as proof of his citizenship. You must also fill in the required forms, proof of your identity, provide 2 passport photos and the fee, and you must appear in person at a passport office. You must also have the permission of both parents.

(Be careful though, if you are a citizen of Nepal then the child may also be a citizen of Nepal and may need a Nepal passport to enter/leave Nepal. Check with the Nepal Embassy/Consulate in the US).

EDIT: To Riley, just because she is a US citizen does NOT make the child automatically a US citizen. In this case, the child is a US citizen by virtue of being born in the US (jus soli: right of the soil).

Dual nationality is not permitted under Nepal law. Nepalese authorities have confirmed, as recently as November 2006, that "there is a total prohibition on dual nationality in Nepal". Termination is covered in Section 10 of the Nepal Citizenship Act 2006.

If you are a US citizen, you baby is automatically a US citizen. To find out the best passport information go to this website http://travel.state.gov/ it will give you all the information you need, because it is a government site. You can even find local post offices that will issue passports. Make sure that when you apply for the passport you tell them to "expedite" it, this means it will cut your waiting time in half and you should receive it within a month.
