What is the proper pace speed for a beginner?

I started running on my machine, and I want to set the pace speed for it, then what should it be?

  1. This is not something anyone here can answer for you. Set it to a pace where you can converse with someone when you're training. For some people that might be at a 6.0 miles per hour. For others, it might be slower, between that and 5 or even a little slower. When you start out, don't be worried about pace so much. Focus either on a certain time goal or a distance you want to reach.


  2. depends,  are you a chunky or thin person? and also on your health.   Good pace to start is 10mph for 3-4 miles.  Then get it down to 9 minute miles for 4 miles.

    Army we have to run under 9 minute pace, and that's a good pace for any beginners actually, you work up to a mile then up to 4 miles which is good.
