  1. I usually make sure that the oil is full and fresh and that there is a full tank of gas in it.  Also, make sure that the battery is fully charged.  If cranking it for the first time after the winter break, it may be hard to get it to crank.  If you have a choke, engage it when trying to start it.  I usually have to turn the idle s***w, which is found on the motor under the seat, to get it to crank.  Once it cranks, turn the idle s***w back down to the appropriate idle.

  2. If you stored it with a gas additive like sta-bil, your fuel should be okay.  If not, drain the old fuel and add fresh gas.  Check your spark plugs, clean and gap as needed ( if you have a two stroke motor, replace spark plugs after 25 hours of operation )

Check cables and lube or grease fittings as needed.  Check that the battery has a full charge. Crank engine with spark plugs removed a few times to get a film of oil on the engine. Install spark plugs and your ready to fire her up.

    Recommended products and chemicals:

For a two stroke engine: you'll need to have a good TW3 two stroke oil for the oil reservoir or if you've blocked it off you'll need to pre-mix.  A spare set of spark plugs are always good to have on hand.  A can of engine fogger, a can of carb cleaner ( if you have carbs ) a good marine grease for cable/fitting lubrication. If you ride in salt water, a salt nuetralizer like Salt-Terminator to rinse off your pwc.  Some people like WD-40 for spraying down the exterior of their engine, but be aware that will break down the rubber.
