  1. Depends on who gave them to you.

If your parents or super nosy friends gave them to you, you kinda have to keep them.  If they found out you threw it away, they might get offended.  Plus, when they do see that you kept them, they love you even more.

If it's someone who would never ever find out about your cards, throw them away when YOU want to.  Depends on you.

  2. If you need to ask, you probably should throw them away.

  3. I throw out the ones from people who I haven't talked to me in years. I throw the ones from people who are not interested in keeping in touch, people who don't reply emails, people who don't return phone calls.

  4. I keep them for a while after my birthday and end up throwing most of them away. I keep the important ones from my husband, mom and sisters.

  5. Keep them for a while, then after that, keep the ones that are important to you.

  6. Unless they have a short letter inside I would not save them.  Chances are you will not be opening a museum of all the memorabilia from your life.  Presidents may get to endow libraries with their papers and laundry lists, but me, I doubt there will be a Dogbreath Archive.

  7. I just went through a stack of old ones. I threw out the ones from people who i haven't talked to in years, and the ones that didn't have anything written inside of them besides "happy birthday". I kept all of the ones that had handwritten messages that were sentimental to me.

I felt bad throwing any out though.

  8. Keep them in a box without a cover on a shelf you only see occasionally.  They will be a reminder when you need it that you have people in your life who care.  As you add to the box over the years, throw away the older cards.

  9. Recycle them. Cross off your name, put soemone else's, and send it again. That way you can spread the happiness you felt when you recieved the card to others just like you. And it saves money.

  10. I keep all of mine just for momentos, but a lot of people I know just throw them away.
