Often when listening to the news I will hear the president called Mr. Bush, is this an appropriate title for him when reporting about him in his official capacity? It just seems strange to me to hear this when Bill Clinton is always referred to as Former President Clinton

  1. President Bush or  in a few months, President McCain... *S*S

  2. i just call him o powerful and evil overlord

  3. Usually its Mr. President.  However, I would think it would be appropriate to say "hey idiot".

  4. Mr. President or Ms. President.

  5. Mr. President or President Bush

  6. The truly proper way to directly address the President is Mr(or Ms. or Mrs. if that ever happens) President. the proper way to REFER to him(or her, again, if that ever happens) is  President(surname here).

  7. I think the appropriate form of address, as we learned in his recent trip to Rome to visit the Pope, is "Lookin' good!"

Okay, seriously now, during an ongoing conversation with the President, it is proper to say "Mr. President" the first time he is addressed, following which using his (or her) surname is appropriate.

  8. Respect the Office not necessarily the occupant.  Mr. President.
