An old couple driving a 4x4 pulling a trailer hit my car today. They merged into my lane even though I had the right-away. After honking behind them for about a mile, I drove up next to them in the emergency lane(we were in a traffic jam and going about 10mph) and told them that I called the cops and they need to pull over. They ignored me and drove off.

I gave all the info I had to the state trooper and I was wondering what will happen to them. They had an Ontario license plate. Please tell me the driver will be stripped of his license and won't ever drive again.

  1. Given that statement and my experience, the liberal minded judge will tell the old couple to take a hike and let em' go with a warning like the officer should have: meanwhile, you will have wasted a whole day in court......ha!

  2. no they will prob just have to pay for the damage on your car

  3. It is usually a misdemeanor and they will likely face a stiff fine, somewhere along the lines of $1000-$2500 and will have to pay for the repairs to your vehicle.  It is highly unlikely they would get any jail time.  Their license will not likely be suspended, unless they have other violations, but this is a pretty bad ding on their license.  Finally, their insurance will likely quadruple.
