I'm 16 and I live in CA and i've got a ticket for driving with passengers (my sister and a friend) And i've got it 2 days before 12 month of my licence. And licence says that you can't have passengers (under age of 20) in your car for 12 month

My sister is 18 and my friend is Almost 20

My Question is waht is the punishment/fine for this infraction?

Is there any way i can get out of this?

Any help with what to do in or before court???

  1. A failure to obey licensing provisions (Veh C § 12814.6(b)(1)(B)) is punishable by 8-16 hours of community service (Veh C § 12814.6(e)(1)(A)) or a $146 fine (including penalty assessments).  Your license will be unaffected (Veh C § 12814.6(f)).

    */End of Line.

  2. They may suspend your license.

  3. DMV may suspend your license until you are 18 since you can not follow their rules.  A driver's license is a privilege and they can take it away from you for this incident.
