This includes church, where there is no need for security for the praise team... ;)

  1. If the drums are 'miked-up' then the plexiglass is so the drummer can 'hear' the drumbeat over the sound of the amplifiers.

  2. The purpose of the Plexiglass is so that if the drummer is hitting the drums too hard and accidentally loses a drum stick it doesn't hit and one. Also, so the audience can hear the music of the drums instead of just the sound of the drumstick beating on the drum. He/She also doesn't get distracted as easily.

  3. Its because sometimes the drummer can go so crazypeople get mezmerised and start to worship him and this keeps mthem from getting to him so he can continue playing peacefully.

  4. I thought it was for protection from flying broken beer bottles.  nah it's probably for acoustics, better sound.
