  1. ECOSOC is the Economic and Social Council in the United Nations. Or it is the Economic and Social Commitee in the EU.

In the UN it is a General Assembly Committee that deals with topics that have to do with the world economy and humaitarian needs. Topics like refugee aid or how to fund a project are common points on the agenda for ECOSOC.

  2. well in model un the purpose of ecosoc is to look at the hot guys who weren't up to the challenge of the more difficult committees of general assembly...ok but in reality, ecosoc deals with economical and social issues around the world including countries with extreme debt problems, racial issues, and even slavery.

  3. ECOSOC aims to promote higher standards of living, full employment and economic and social progress in member nations. It issues reports and make recommendations on a wide range of economic, social and cultural matters. that is the official aim. i think the real aim is to control member states' economic situation by these recommendations and to have the right to interfere in social and cultural matters..
