What is the purpose of God?

God is omniscient, he know past, present, and future without any exception. There is nothing new God can expect. Then what is He expecting from His creation. Isn't his existence monotonous.

  1. God created everything, including you.  This is like asking what the purpose of your father is.  No one can answer a question like this, but everyone has an opinion.  My opinion is that God is the beginning and the end.  He created everything (the beginning)  and He will take it all back (the end).  He is your last hope when you have nothing else to hope for.  He has all of the answers you seek.  He guides the lives of everyone, although not everyone will agree.  He keeps everything existing, which includes your life.  He is all.  You would do best not to question these things, or you will find yourself lost.

  2. God as you describe him would have to exist independent of time so therefore monotony wouldn't really be a factor as the very concept implies being part of the flow of time as we are.

  3. RA,GOD,WODEN,ZEUS etc etc they serve the purpose of giving those who need to believe in something greater than themselves  hope for the future,a sense that after our mortal coils rot and decompose our souls transcend into higher beings and go to heaven.in other words we can click our heels together like dorethy and get out of Oz and go to kansas.is it just me or does THOUSANDS ,MILLIONS of years of life before any mention of God kinda show that idea is sort of lame and a lot of supertitious nonsense?.All aeons had assorted creation myths,so do we still.yet i wonder, what came first the Crossopterygii fish or the spawn?

  4. "God is a concept on which we blame our suffering." -John Lennon

If you want anything done or anything you must go out and do it yourself. Personal opinion is God is a lesser name for good- good with the acceptance and vision of the extra o missing.

As John Lennon states in his song "God," the only thing anyone should believe in is themselves, because you are the only one that can change your world.

sorry this is a small tangent i realized that looking back at the question, but i believe what i wrote too much to delete it.

  5. God is love and as such is the creative force in all the universe.  He can make old things look new and cause life to be born again in new ways.  The purpose of God is to make dead men live again.  And to create new words in the physical, in the philosophical and in the spiritual.

  6. If God is as some have stated watching over us to see where we go, what we will do in certain circumstances, this puts God in an extremely difficult stance because if He is everywhere, sees everything and knows all, then He knows what we are thinking before we think it.

Is it possible that we are only an experiment in a test tube and He or They are only watching us to see how we develop, or a several of the "gods" have a bet on who will live or die. If either was the case, He wouldn't really be as we think a god should be, therefore we, in worshiping him/her/them, would be worshiping a false god because it would not be as we wish.

Some say, he answers our prayers, the Bible says, Ask and he shall give it, yet I have seen no payers answered in my nearly 70 years, over 40 of that believing in this Christian God, but receiving no compensate.

  7. God, as the multidimensional Field of Reality in which we are embedded, is NEUTRAL.  But, because our experience of reality is responsive to consciousness, people personify a deity that cares about them.

Reality mirrors the contents of consciousness individually (mostly subconscious) and en masse.

  8. The purpose of God is to answers human questions about the world and universe around them. "God" is different in every religion but the meaning behind him is basically the same.

  9. hes expecting us to love him as he loves us and obey him so that we may join him in heaven as his children

  10. You're totally right, it makes no sense, why would he create a universe in the first place if he's really omnipotent. He wouldn't need nor want anything. The only possible thing that could challenge him would be to destroy himself . . .

You should read God's Debris by Scott Adams. It adresses this very subject wonderfully.

  11. You would be surprised how fascinating a Rubik's cube is by infinite sides. But I suspect that God can "come down to Earth" as it were, living a whole life as a single person and then returning to the whole infinite shebang. That's what WE are, God on Walkabout.

  12. He is expecting worship and obedience.  He created us...He has a right to want our lives.  We were simply created for His pleasure and nothing else.  What else would you expect from your creation if you were God???

  13. religion is the opiate of the masses

  14. I believe he created us for the same reason he created everything, to make him smile.

  15. I have always thought that the sole purpose of God was to give us hope and comfort for the future. God has always led us to believe that our sins can be forgiven, we have a paradise awaiting us after we die, and we have someone looking after us. To me, that sounds a bit too good to be true, but I don't believe on hindering other people's beliefs so long as it doesn't cloud their judgment or infringe on my beliefs.

  16. I think the one thing God "wants" for his creation, not necessarily what He "expects" is for us to learn, grown and have a close relationship with Him.  I have been a Christian since I was a kid (8 years old).  I am constantly growing, learning and realizing (more and more) the awesome power of God and His desire to bless us with wonderful family, friends and to grow in a personal relationship with Him.

  17. ...GOD is man made...and many people are influenced by the so called leaders of his various houses...they don't even trust each other...

  18. His purpose was to explain the unknown universe to our primitive barbarian ancestors, or rather He was used as the explanation for all the unkown things around them.  As science begins to explain the universe, the less modern man needs a supernatural power to explain the universe.  But obsolete genes do not go away over night, so we'll be seeing people with delusional world views for some time to come.

  19. Gods a way of someone dealing with their lives. People cant take the pressure of their own lives so they have to have someone to blame for things that happen. They also use God as a purpose in life because they might not think their life is going anywhere. Supposedly God is supposed to help you accopmplish anything you want, but if you asked poeple what God has done for them, they'll probably just reply that he brought him into this world. Which is a very dumb excuse.
