  1. To show he's not only dull and boring on the court but in the commentary box too. Thank God for Mac.

  2. This "expert summariser" thing has really got out of hand. It's great to hear the opinions of a John McEnroe or a Boris Becker - but why do we need both of them passing comment on the SAME match? I thought there was supposed to be a recession on!

As for Henman, this sinecure is his reward for keeping the British public interested in Wimbledon (and keeping up viewing figures) for 10 years in which he was the only home-grown player to get past the middle Sunday.

At least we don't have to suffer his badly-acted adverts for washing powder any more!

  3. He's new to the job of commentating, give the guy a break for fook sake!

  4. Isn't he a hero? i think not, perhaps he's thinking bloody h**l i wish I has played that well !!!!!!!!

  5. Dreaming of what could have been..If he had been any good at tennis

  6. He's got nowhere else to go!

  7. To make himself some pocket money.

  8. To be fair, he is the only one commentating who has RECENT experience in the game; when Johnny Mac and Lloydy were playing the game was at least 10-15% slower.

For any shortcomings as a player he does, at least, have personality (unlike some current "British" players) and I think he certainly deserves a bigger slice of the commentary. He will always be muscled out by Johnny Mac, though, as he is admittedly more entertaining.

Since JM usually defects to NBC to commentate on the final, perhaps Henman will get his chance there (but he'll probably lose out to Llyody and Andrew Castle :).

  9. good question. as if we didnt have enough annoying commentators in the box they bring tim in, puts the icing on the cake dont it ? But oh well...........

  10. No idea

whats the purpose of him at any Wimbledon?

  11. He's there for Johnny Mac to take the p**s out of, as some kind of straight man. He's doing a good job of it too.

Do you think that tomorrow they'll be standing next to a court and someone will ask him "Do you miss playing then Tim? Do you want to be out there playing again?" Won't it be a thrilling novelty if they do!

  12. All those horrible middle englanders wanted him on,you know the twats that wear union jack on all their clothing and look inbred

  13. He's just starting out as a commentator.  I'm sure he'll get better, if they keep him on next year.

  14. No, I agree with you.

I didn't even realise he was there until one of the other commentators was like 'so what do you think tim..?'

and I was like woah, no way has he been there the whole time?!?

I guess to serve as some sort of English Tennis token haha, I mean he had a hill named after him....god I love the British

  15. Tim Henman will always be considered a class act in front of that idiot John McEnroe, who remains the worst thing to ever happen to tennis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
